JKT48 First and Second Debut

Finally what we’ve been waiting for, their first ever debut performance LIVE on the 17th of December 2011!
What do you think? Are they up to your expectations?

EDIT: Added video that shows Rena-chan! Yay!! ^^

First ever debut performance LIVE in Global TV’s 100% AMPUH – 17th of December, 2011

Second debut performance LIVE in f(x) Senayan – 18th of December, 2011

Rena-chan talking in Japanese from 0:57 omfg cute!

Japanese TV show ZIP covering the debut of JKT48

I think they’re doing ok – I’m not so sure about the Indonesian translation because I kind of cringe when I heard it, but hey maybe it’s just me. My ears are kind of used to the Heavy Rotation melody sang in Japanese… if you’re reading this and you’re Indonesian, what do you think?
Maybe this is a sign that I need to get used to listening to Indonesian songs again ^^

Do you prefer they sing in English rather than Indonesian?
But would that limit the audience instead?

On another note, I was trying to register SBY48.com but I noticed that a Japanese company has already snapped it up ( see here ) – I don’t think that that’s the company that handles AKB48 but would this mean that after the success of JKT48 there will be other ooo48 teams in Indonesia? Oh, and BDG48 is already snapped too, just in case you’re wondering.

Well, I got my share of MDN48 (since I think there are heaps of cute girls in Medan) but I’m not very optimistic that they’re going to appear anytime soon 😛 hehehe

Anyways, let me know what you think of the formation!

Personally I’d love to see more of Rena Nozawa-chan =)
I still wonder if she can speak Indonesian? Because in one of the interview videos she was talking in English (perfect english, mind you)

Japan is just a click away!
